I teach with a light and open heart to create space for Yoga. Creating energy through our students, we aim to achieve a balance of inner awareness, presence through breath and renewed personal strength. I enjoy including meditation, poetry, readings and new elements into all of our classes as a means to enlighten, empower and recharge.
I have attended Breaking Down the Flow, Hip Opening workshops and several Prana Flow Teacher Training Modules with Ananda Shala in Frederick, Maryland. This year will give me even more to share through my private and group practices.
My passions are to taking Yoga out of the studio and into the world by incorporating natural elements (Earth, Sun, Fire, & Water). Our non-profit plans for the future will bring services to places we can directly affect into the community: Live Local in Loudoun with Yoga on the Wine Trail.

Currently, Jessi is completing her advanced teacher training in Prana Flow yoga with Maria Garre. People ask.. What is Pilates? In two simple words – Movement Heals. After years of riding horses, Joan would wake up in the morning and have difficulty walking. She started taking Pilates and noticed her chronic back pain and stiffness were gone. At one point when life got too busy, she stopped practicing for a few months, and the back issues came back. Joan decided that it was time to go back to Pilates for good. She knew that if Pilates helped her, then it could help lots of other people, and decided to undertake a 600 hour Classical Pilates teacher training certification through Power Pilates. She was awarded her Power Pilates Comprehensive Certified Instructor certificate in early 2012. In addition she holds Beginner and Intermediate Mat Certifications. The Pilates Method is a collaboration of movements and principles that connect the Body, Mind and Soul. It is a safe yet effective way to Strengthen, Stretch and Stabilize your body working from the “inside out.” Joan teaches on the apparatus as well as on the mat. For information please contact her on 540-454-1069. Joan lives near Leesburg with her husband, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 horses and usually a foster Labrador Retriever (or two).
